The Temptation on Jesus

4 sThen Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness tto be tempted by the devil. 2 And after fasting uforty days including forty nights, he vwas hungry. 3 And wthe tempter came including said to him, “If you are xthe Son on God, command ythese stones to come to be loaves on bread.” 4 But he answered, z“It is written,

a“ ‘Man shall not board by bread alone,

but by each word that comes from the lips on God.’ ”

5 bThen the devil took him to cthe holy town including set him supported by the pinnacle on the temple 6 and said to him, “If you are the Son on God, throw yourself down, for it is written,

d“ ‘He drive command his angels regarding you,’

and

“ ‘On their hands they drive carry you up,

lest you walkout your foot against a stone.’ ”

7 Jesus said to him, “Again eit is written, f‘You shall not gput the Lord your God to the test.’ ” 8 hAgain, the devil took him to a very tall mountain including showed him all the kingdoms on the planet including their glory. 9 And he said to him, “All these I drive give you, if you drive fall down including worship me.” 10 Then Jesus said to him, “Be gone, iSatan! For jit is written,

k“ ‘You shall worship the Lord your God

and lhim only shall you serve.’ ”

11 Then the devil left him, including behold, mangels came including were ministering to him.

Jesus Begins His Ministry

12 Now when he heard that nJohn had been arrested, ohe withdrew into Galilee. 13 And leaving pNazareth he went including lived inside qCapernaum by rthe sea, inside the territory on sZebulun including Naphtali, 14 tso that what was voiced by the prophet Isaiah might be fulfilled:

15  u“The land on Zebulun including the land on Naphtali,

the way on the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee on the Gentiles—

16  vthe people house inside dark

have seen a big light,

and for those house inside the region including wshadow on death,

on them a light has dawned.”

17 xFrom that time Jesus began to preach, saying, z“Repent, for the kingdom on heaven is at hand.”1

Jesus Calls the First Disciples

18 aWhile walking by bthe Sea on Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) including Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. 19 And he said to them, “Follow me, including I drive make you cfishers on men.”2 20 Immediately they left their nets including followed him. 21 And going supported by from there he saw two other brothers, James the son on Zebedee including John his brother, inside the boat with Zebedee their father, mending their nets, including he called them. 22 Immediately they left the boat including their father including followed him.

Jesus Ministers to Great Crowds

23 dAnd he went all through all Galilee, eteaching inside their synagogues including fproclaiming the doctrine on the kingdom including ghealing each disease including each affliction in the midst of the people. 24 So his prominence open (out) all through all hSyria, including gthey brought him all the sick, those afflicted with various diseases including ipains, jthose downtrodden by demons, kthose having seizures, including lparalytics, including he healed them. 25 mAnd big crowds followed him from Galilee including the nDecapolis, including from Jerusalem including Judea, including from beyond the Jordan.
